I am having trouble getting XWindows to work. I just installed my RedHat
5.2 system and I have several problems with XWindows so far. I have an
ATI Xpert98 (ATI Rage Pro Turbo chipset) and I cannot get it to run the
Mach64 accelerated server. I succeeded in getting the SVGA server up and
running. However whenever I reboot and try to restart XWindows I get the
error message
_X11TransSocketUNIXConnect: Can't connect: errno = 111
giving up.
xinit: Connection refused (errno 111): unable to connect to X server
xinit: No such process (errno 3): server error.
If I am really desperate to get X back up I can remove the SVGA server
and Mach64 servers and reinstall them and it works... until I reboot
again. Not a pleasant situation. If anybody has any information on this
problem or advice to give then please let me know. Thanks in advance.
