Hi,

I am running CDE under Redhat 5. I am encountering an error when running
some programs, such as xbru and a tcl text editor I downloaded recently.
They run fine under other X windows mangers, but under CDE I get errors
such as:

Xlib: connection to "localhost:0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key
Xlib: connection to "localhost:0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key
Application initialization failed: couldn't connect to display "localhost:0.0"
Error in startup script: can't read "tk_version": no such variable
    while executing
"if {$tk_version<8} {
puts stdout "You need to upgrade to tk/tcl 8.0 or higer!"
exit
}"
    (procedure "setup" line 5)
    invoked from within
"setup"
    (file "/usr/local/tcltextedit/edit.tcl" line 104)

Clearly, I have a config problem with CDE. I think I recall reading
something about this on this mailing list but I can't find it in the
archives. How can I correct this error?

Any help much appreciated.
