If it's happening at the exact same spot every time, it could well be there
there's a phyical error on the hard drive. If there's some way you can run
Norton Disk Doctor on the drive, I'd do that and see what
happens...specifically run a surface scan to see if there's physical damage.
I have seen buggy mobo's that have caused formatting to bomb out as well, so it
possible there's something wrong there. Just a thought...
