Well, I was considering it. But if I end up getting the same
terse response you did, I wonder if it is worth commenting
on.

Personally, I wonder about that guy who wanted to itemize all
of Linux's deficiencies. And the author doesn't seem to
have much of a clue about Linux vs other Unices.

And regarding security: I would think it difficult to make a
real comparison with respect to security on Linux vs. other
Unices, like Irix, AIX, HPUX, etc. In some respects, Linux
is aimed at a different audience and type of user than the
others: for instance, I doubt anyone would be able to get
*legitimate* root access on some of these other Unices, without
either owning the box (and we're talking mainframes here) or
being employed as a system administrator. On the other hand,
hundreds of people can download and install Linux on their
PCs, and login as root. Consequently, there can be many
messed-up Linux boxen out there.
