I would like to thank all those who responded with help to my problem.=20
I am now able to access my ISP from my personal Linux accout and not as r=
oot.
I have now noticed an interesting difference between how the two accounts
connect.
When I connect as root KDE's internet dial-up tool shows a connection spe=
ed of
1440 (I have an old USR Sportster internal and this is my highest speed) =
but
when I connect through my personal account I only connect at 9600.
I have double checked the setting for both and they are the same.
Any Ideas why my personal account connects slower?
Thanks again for all your help, I hope that someday I will be able to hel=
p some
newbies on the list and return the favor.
Kent
