Rick, et al.:

I'm not a GUI fan at all, but I recognize that many of today's essential
apps require X. So, I'll use it. (As an aside, I mind X much less than the
various flavors of Windows; a reaction which amuses me.)

Anyway, I've installed xfce2 primarily for my fiancee's benefit. I've not
investigated it thoroughly to learn all it could do (e.g., start Navigator,
WordPerfect, Applixware and GIMP). But, Real Soon Now! <g> Anyway, my
question:

I would like small, desktop apps with which I can exchange data with my
Palm Pilot. Something (or things) with the equivalent capabilities of the
Palm Pilot desktop software for Windows. I understand that KDE has a
calendar, address book and so on built in, and I know that there is support
for the PP in Linux (which is why I bought it to replace the Royal organizer
I had been using.) Does xfce2 have such tools available? If not, are there
some small apps which would work and which could be added to that desktop?

We don't care what "desktop" we use. Appearance is much lower in priority
than is functionality. Also, low maintanence is a requirement because I've
got too many things to learn/fix/do on our network and in my business to
spend time futzing with an interface.

TIA -- and happy Thanksgiving all of you in the US,

Rich
