AFAIK the writing software on Linux only supports SCSI CD-R
it is (apparently) possible to get around this problem using
SCSI emulation but this sounds like it would cause all kinds
of problems with IDE hard-drives etc.
if anyone has had any success in this area, i'd be interested
to hear about it.
