Looks like I need more detailed pointers. (Is there a FAQ or a HOWTO =
somewhere
that would give me lots of step-by-step?)

Ran linuxconf and chose networking. It presented me with three options:
* Client tasks
* Server tasks
* Misc

None of these offered a choice for setting up interfaces.

Haven't resorted to a reinstall yet, but in some of the manual config =
dialogs,
you get just one blank and have to insert a text string in a particular =
format.
(I needed to do this for my SCSI card.)

Is this the case with NIC setup? If so, can you help with the format of =
that
string? Is it something like eth0=3Dxxx,xx,x,x ?
