In my earlier posting, I have had replies that the kernel source that I got
from ftp.kernel.org will work OK in my existing RH 5.1. So far I manage to
compile it but there is an error at the end of the compilation. It goes like
this:-
***************************************
:
:
Root device is (8, 2)
Boot sector is 512 bytes
Setup is 4396 bytes
System is 513 kB
System is too big <--- Is this the problem?
make(1): *** [zImage] Error 1
make(1): LEaving directory '/usr/src/linux-2.0.36/arch/i386/boot'
make: *** [zImage] Error 2
******* End of message *****************
What will actually cause this problem. I'm fairly new to kernel compilation.
Can anyone please enlighten me?
Thanks in advance.
