This is not a question, just for your information.
I ordered a 15" Viewsonic VP150 and put it in operation. I have
it running 1024x768, 32 bit color. In X-windows, RedHat 5.1
with a Matrox Mystique 220 business 4 MB card.
Let me say that this is easily the BEST monitor I have ever had.
In my entire life, I have never sat in front of a monitor that
was so sharp, so beautiful and so easy on the eyes. It can be
viewed from any reasonable angle and the picture is still just as
good.
The resolution is so fine that fonts that I thought were blocky,
actually are sharp, fine lined letters. I haven't tried smaller
fonts, but I am sure I can reduce the font size by one and still
be viewable.
The nice thing about this monitor is that the 15" size is real
viewable image size, about the same as the 17 Viewsonic E-771
that it is replacing.
Installation under Linux was ridiculously easy. Just choose
"Custom" monitor in Xconfigurator, and plug in the resolution
and frequencies from the manual. It came up right away with
absolutely spectacular display.
There is no flicker, no pulsing, no shimmering....its just like if
the image was printed on the screen. Truly amazing.
Its pricey....you gonna spend the better part of $1K to get one,
but it was worth every penny. Anyone that gets a glass monitor
after seeing this beauty is just dumb/nuts/broke. Spectacular.
