Problem is, most commands on the system rely on ld.so working and break if
it's not working - so a reboot won't buy anything (as most commands are not
working during reboot...).
The only way I can see is to boot with a rescue disk (you *do* have one, do
you? Under RHL 4.2, the install floppies could be used for a crude but
working rescue boot - not comfortable, but good enough in an emergency),
mount your /usr partition and fix that link.
