Hi friends

X-posted to several Linux lists...

Long time since my last posting, so here goes:

Sofar I've not had the luxury of having any use of my SoundCard in Linux.

I'm currently running RedHat 5.1 with kernel 2.0.35-1 on a K6-200 (i386)
and have attempted to upgrade to 2.0.35-2 using the RPMs to get my card
working.

But whenever I attempt to upgrade the kernel, something goes south. I've
tried both RPM -Ivh and -Uvh, but still no dize.

On every attempt I get various messages of "failed dependencies: ... needs
...".

Could someone possibly tell me exactly which RPMs I need, what order to
install them and which RPM command to use to accomplish that task.

I also did an attempt at compiling a kernel myself (twice), but that only
resulted in handicapping LILO.

Please keep in mind that I'm a newbie, and have no experience with
upgrading using RPM - sofar I've only added and removed them.
