Dear OS/2 Community --
Last February I did a quick-and-dirty program to convert PostScript files to
n-up. This was a REXX program that wrapped your PS file with some PostScript
written long ago by Ned Bachelder, and has existed as UNIX shell script for a
few years. This works OK, but there are apparently some PostScript files it
cannot convert correctly, and it does not have excellent performance.
I am pleased to announce that Wonkoo Kim (wkim+@pitt.edu) has done an
executable version of psnup in his port of psutils. This version seems to
handle more PostScript files and has substantially better performance than my
psnupos2. Accordingly, I am withdrawing psnupos2. People needing this
capability should download psutils as
ftp://hobbes.nmsu.edu/os2/printer/psutils.zip instead.
Also note that the description of psutils says you need perl; this is only
true of *some* of the programs. In particular, psnup.exe does not use perl.
