The purpose of the DeReg-program is to list the current classes,
registered to the OS/2 desktop, and optionally to deregister
selected classes.
Unfortunately, many programs are only delivered with an installation
utility, and not with a utility for removing the installed program
and its registered classes. This makes it next to impossible for the
average OS/2-user to completely delete certain programs.
Deregistering a class is equivalent of deleting it from the desktop.
A deregistration also removes the link from the class to any associated
file (a *.DLL-file). After a deregistration and a shut down, the user
can delete the associated files.
You can find DeReg.zip at ft.//hobbes.nmsu.edu.
DeReg have the following requirements:
- OS/2 ver. 2.0 or later
- REXX must be installed
The program is postcardware.
