IceBerg for GTirc, V 1.00
IceBerg is a set of scripts for use with the GammaTech IRC client (version
1.04 and above). The scripts enhance and improve of the features of GTirc.
They are released as Postcard-Ware, only thing I as is that if you use it,
drop me some E-Mail to let me know what you think of it. Version 1.00 is
the initial release of this product, a new version is being worked on for
release within a week or two barring any unforeseen circumstances.
Some of the features currently in IceBerg V1.00:
- A message logging function. (May be re-worked in the next version)
- Many normal IRC commands are shortened (ie /whois becomes /wi, /topic
becomes /t)
- "/wall" and "/wallop" commands for messaging all nicks or all channel ops
on a specified channel
- And a few rather silly things
Features already added or in the works for the next version:
- Find split servers (done)
- "/exec" command for running OS/2 commands and displaying the result in the
GTirc window. (done)
- "/ossend" command for running OS/2 commands and sending the result to the
current channel or query. (done)
- "/osping" run a normal OS/2 ping instead of the IRC "CTCP PING" (done)
- "/crypt" (this is a silly little thing) encrypts your text and then sends
it to the channel, only other users with GTirc and IceBerg will be able to
easily decrypt this. (done)
- Auto-opping on your friends, this will be nick and channel specific.
(in the works)
IceBerg can be found on hobbes.nmsu.edu in /incoming/icbrg100.zip and should
be moved to /os2/network/tcpip soon. Future versions should keep with
the same name, changing only the version number.
