Vobis preloads Stardock's Object Desktop!
Leading PC Manufacturer will include it on all OS/2 preloaded machines!
Canton, Michigan. Stardock announced today that Vobis AG of Germany
is now preloading Object Desktop on all of their OS/2 Warp machines.
Vobis, a leading PC manufacturer in Europe, has been a strong supporter
of IBM s OS/2 for some time now.
Object Desktop has quickly won the hearts and minds of corporations and
end users around the world. Migration to the advanced desktop environment
has progressed at greater than anticipated rates. As hardware vendors
begin to pre-load it around the world, Stardock's hope is that Object
Desktop will become the standard OS/2 environment.
"We have been pleased with the migration rate of corporations and end
users to the new environment. We believe that Object Desktop is the
product OS/2 users and managers have been looking for. We're very excited
to see Vobis migrating all their OS/2 PCs' to it this soon. A PC with Object
Desktop on it has a significant competitive advantage in features and visual
appeal over PCs without it," said Brad Wardell, President of Stardock
Systems, Inc.
In the coming months, Stardock expects the majority of manufacturers that
preload OS/2 to preload Object Desktop with it. With its ease of use coupled
with powerful features, Object Desktop greatly increases the appeal of
OS/2.
Object Desktop is an advanced desktop environment for OS/2 that
turbo-charges OS/2 with new features, performance, and visuals. Features
include Object Archives which turns common archive files (.ZIP, .LZH, etc.)
into standard Workplace Shell folder objects thus allowing the user to access
data and programs directly from the archive. A powerful Control Center
allows OS/2 users to multitask more efficiently than ever before. An
enhanced folder provides caching for folder objects and HyperDrives speeds
up access to folder objects. These are just a few of the dozens of
must-have features that has made Object Desktop the premiere environment
for OS/2 users. It has received universally good reviews from trade
publications and is currently the top selling OS/2 product worldwide.
Whether at home or at work, Object Desktop is quickly becoming the
must-have product for all OS/2 users. Stardock Systems can be reached at
313/453-0328. Information on Object Desktop is available on Stardock's
