-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After 17 months of development, the OS/2 version of Dual Module Player,
the popular DOS module player, is now available.
It can be found at hobbes.nmsu.edu as /os2/incoming/dmpos2.zip.
Dual Module Player 1.0 for OS/2 is a program for playing music modules
on different sound systems on IBM PC compatible machines. It uses DSMI
sound programming interface (Digital Sound & Music Interface) to
achieve high quality sound and wide sound card support.
It supports the following module formats :
MOD, NST, STM, S3M, 669, FAR, MTM, AMF.
It can use MMPM/2 with playlists, or the latest sound interface from IBM,
Direct Audio. This will allow DMP to work real-time.
DMP is the most extensive OS/2 module player, and it is probably the fastest,
too, especially when using Direct Audio, because the mixing code is written
in 32-bit assembly.
DMP's interface is text-mode only at this time, but a PM version will follow
in December.
Multimedia developers interested in adding module support to their OS/2
programs should contact madbrain@micronet.fr about DSMI for OS/2.
