NEW CANADIAN PACKAGING STRATEGY FOR OS/2 WARP

Canadian consumers now have another way to buy IBM's award-winning
desktop operating systems with the new OS/2 Warp CD Pak. With all the
features of the standard OS/2 Warp software package, the CD Pak
provides consumers with reduced packaging and flexible support options
in exchange for a lower price.

The OS/2 Warp CD Pak retails for Canadian $49.95, less than half the
$129.95 price of the full-box version. In addition to cutting out
bulky packaging, the large, hard-copy manual found in the original
product has been condensed to a quick-reference 30-page instructional
booklet that offers guidance on installation, Internet access and other
sources of assistance.

"Many customers have told us that they don't need all of the
traditional material offered with software packages and would rather
save a few dollars," said Harvey Lewi, Manager, Personal Software
Marketing, IBM Canada Ltd. "In keeping with our efforts to be more
responsive to our customers' needs, we are offering the OS/2 Warp CD
Pak."

The CD Pak version of OS/2 continues to feature one-button access to
the Internet, easy installation and crash-protected power. It also
contains the same BonusPak of applications found in the full-box
version including Spreadsheet, Word Processor, Personal Scheduler and
Multimedia software. Helpful hints about OS/2 Warp can be accessed
electronically or through the 1-800 fax-back number, both at no charge.

Currently, the OS/2 Warp CD Pak is only available in English and is
distributed through selected campus bookstores and retail outlets,
including A Plus Software, CompuCentre, Home Computing, Doppler and
Adventure Electronics.
