> WHERE TO FIND THE JUST ADD OS/2 WARP KIT
Please be very careful when you give this program to anyone to try out WARP.
It seems that IBM included the old SVGA.EXE which locks up a PC which has an
S3 video card with a GENDAC chipset.
I was caught by this problem when I gave copies to a few friends to look at
and consider OS/2. Getting a phone call from someone who thinks they
destroyed their video card definitely was not what I had in mind. I could
fairly easily get them back in operation and quickly discovered the problem
since I had run into it myself on my original WARP installation. However,
no amount of explaining was about to change his mind about trying OS/2 again
and his describing the problem at work convinced at least 2 others to stick
with windoze and not even try the Just Add OS/2 Warp program.
Considering that this was a widely known problem and there is an SVGA.EXE
program dated 8/30/95 which corrected it, I don't understand how IBM blew it
again!
