STi Releases New Barcode Image Reader 5.0 for NT and OS/2

 Boca Raton, Florida-- Solution Technology, Inc. (STi) announces the
availability of its latest BarCode Anywhere 5.0 OEM software barcode image
reading technology for both Windows NT and OS/2 . BarCode Anywhere 5.0
continues to be the fastest all angles software barcode image reader in the
industry. BarCode Anywhere brings the same capabilities to NT that
hundreds of OS/2 customers have.

BarCode Anywhere is the first product in the industry to achieve a scan and
read rate of over two (2) pages per second without special hardware! With
the BarCode Anywhere Software Developer's Kit (SDK) OEMs and Integrators
can realize all angle read rates exceeding from 50 pages per minute (full
page average) to over 100 pages per minute with modest zoning without
special hardware. One of the principal test suites used by STi consists of
images of actual trucking waybills with peel-and-stick barcodes at
different angles and locations. Another test suite consists of delivery
receipts with both dot matrix and laser printed barcodes. Version 5
achieved a zoned scanning speed of less than one (0.5) second per page (120
image pages per minute) without any special hardware on a Pentium 266.

BarCode Anywhere includes the following features which support nearly any
imaging environment:

     * Over 98% accuracy
     * Reads Code 39, Code 93, Code 128,  UPC, EAN-8, EAN-12, Interleaved 2
       of 5
     * Built-in checksum support
     * Patch Code detection in combination with barcode processing
     * Reads up to 100 barcodes on a single image page
     * Scanning resolutions from 200 dpi up
     * No requirement to specify anything about the page or location
     * Scan zoned or unzoned support
     * Automatic damaged barcode repair and error recovery
     * Direct support of uncompressed, TIFF-G3, and TIFF-G4 compressed images
     * Bi-directional, all angles reading
     * Return of location on page of each barcode found
     * Error analysis codes for every barcode found
     * Special versions for IBM's ImagePlus and VisualInfo for OS/2 and NT

An OEM developers kit for BarCode Anywhere for NT or OS/2 is priced at
$4,995 and contains one developers license, one distribution license, and a
