Version 1.21 of NFTP is available.
NFTP is a powerful interactive textmode ftp client for FreeBSD, Linux,
OS/2, Solaris (SPARC) and Windows 95/NT.
Main features of NFTP are:
remote directory view is fully scrollable with minimum keystrokes required;
remote directory contents is cached during one session -- you'll never have
to wait for retrieving the same listing;
marking files for download/upload: you don't need to type filenames at all;
remote file viewing is simple and intelligent, and viewed files are
cached as well;
you can see client-server negotiation (even complete history during
all run);
NFTP has batch progress indicator (you see how long the entire
operation will take if more than one file was selected to
transfer);
file selection is simple and allows to view remote files while
marking others to transfer;
you can skip files during transfer while continuing to
download/upload the rest;
you can mark files in different directories and then retrieve them
all, keeping directory structure (therefore you can transfer
entire directory trees);
NFTP automatically downloads 00index.txt/FILES.BBS/etc. and shows
file descriptions;
NFTP reconnects to ftp server as needed -- you'll no longer worry
about timeouts and dropped connections;
you can sort remote directories by name, size, date/time;
two-level hierarchical bookmark system is quick and efficient;
comprehensive transfer logging;
available on multiple platforms with the same user interface
(FreeBSD, Linux, OS/2, Solaris, Windows 95/NT);
comes in English, Chinese, Spanish, Swedish, Hungarian, German, Danish,
Japanese, Norwegian, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Dutch, French,
Bulgarian and Russian versions.
Version 1.21 fixes bugs found in 1.20 and adds FreeBSD and Solaris ports.

NFTP is shareware, so you have to pay for it to transfer files larger than
500KB. The registration fee currently is $20 and will be raised to $25 on 1
September 1998. Windows version is free until 1 August 1998, Unix version
are free until 1 February 1999. The fastest and safest way to register is
via BMT Micro (http://www.bmtmicro.com). One registration covers all
versions (including future ones) on all platforms.
