Ridax programutveckling announces Java client for remote control
Allows remote control of Windows 95/NT and OS/2 machines from WEB browsers.

Goteborg, Sweden, March 2/1998

Today Ridax programutveckling announce the release of a Java client for its
WIN2You and PM2You remote control products for Windows 95/NT and OS/2. With
the release of the Java client it has become really easy to remote control
the desktops of Windows 95/NT or OS/2 machines over the Internet or other
TCP/IP networks. Any computer running the WIN2You or PM2You remote control
host product can now be reached from an ordinary WEB browser with Java 1.1
support, like Netscape Communicator 4, Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 or
Netscape 2.02 for OS/2. The new client isn't limited to OS/2 and Windows
platforms, but can also be used to take control over Windows 95/NT or OS/2
machines from Unix, Mac or NC environments. As the WIN2You and PM2You hosts
have built in WEB server functionality, there is no need for any external
WEB server to connect to the hosts from the WEB browser.

Now there is no need to install any software at the clients you want to
remote control from. By using the Java Applet distribution technology, the
Java client software is automatically downloaded from the hosts built in WEB
server and started when you connect your browser to the host. This
technology also ensures that you are always using the correct version of the
client software, thus eliminating the need to install any updates at the
client machines.

Of course the WIN2You and PM2You remote control hosts can also be accessed
over dial-up serial connections and network connections such as NetBIOS or
Named Pipes. For this purpose there are client software available for
Windows and OS/2.
