SuperDisk LS-120 Drive Support
OS/2 Warp now supports the SuperDisk LS-120 Drive. The IBM OS/2 Device
Driver Pak On-Linewill have an OS/2 device driver for the LS-120 drive and
instructions for installation. This drive will be supported on OS/2 Warp
systems by simply adding the OS/2 device driver statement
BASEDEV=IBMATAPI.FLT to your CONFIG.SYS and copying the device driver
IBMATAPI.FLT to the \OS2\BOOT directory. You need to restart your system
after adding the statement to your CONFIG.SYS. You can then use the LS-120
removable cartridges in the industry standard mode (as a large floppy).
The SuperDisk LS-120 drive supports 120-MB diskettes and is compatible with
3.5 inch 1.44-MB standard diskettes at five times the performance of
standard diskette drives and will be a popular option for laptops.
SuperDisk LS-120 drives are available on Compaq Deskpro and ProLinea
Personal Computers and should be available for the IBM ThinkPad 770
SuperDisk UltraBay II during the during the first quarter 1998. (Parallel
attached LS-120 drives require a driver from the drive vendor).
The SuperDisk LS-120 device driver, IBMATAPI.FLT, will be available in
January 1998 from the IBM OS/2 Device Driver Pak On-Line at the following
