---------------------------------------------------------------------
We are looking for volunteer programmers to beta test a new development
product. At the moment the Beta test program is limited to the Win32
version. Future versions will include OS/2, Solaris, AIX, Linux, MacOS, and
others. Product release is scheduled for March 2nd, 1998. If you are
interested in participating please download the software at
http://www.simple-sw.com/demo.htm. For complete details about e_Fs please
visit http://www.simple-sw.com/efsinfo.htm.
e_Fs consists of a set of functions that allow a programmer to create a
file, known as the external file system, and then store other files in it
within a hierarchical directory structure similar to that found in most
modern file systems. The external file system grows as the files it contains
grow and as your application creates new files within it. An external file
system file is compatible across all platforms.
Files contained within the external file system are manipulated in exactly
the same way you manipulate normal files using the C Runtime Library except
that you call function efs_open instead of _open and efs_write instead of
_write, and efs_lseek instead of _lseek, etc.
