I'm proud to announce WarpCalc Version 1.7:
This calculator package contains two scientific calculators, one for
the command-line (CLI) and one for PM (GUI). Both versions share the
same core capabilities. In addition to common calculator features
they allow the user to define his/her own symbols.
Version 1.5 (1997-12-23) introduced the following.
Multiple arguments functions. Symbols saved between sessions.
Internationality. Much improved error handling. The numeric keypad
can be used just as a simple calculator. Options for decimal
separator, initial window position and repeated evaluation. Online
help. All known bugs fixed.
New features and fixes in this version.
1. Enhanced ISO support:
- Allows white space in numbers for readability.
- Does implicit multiplications when using parenthesis.
- Recognizes the dot above the line as a multiplication operator.
- Online help extended with a new standards subsection listing SI
base and derived units, prefixes and numbers.
2. Two new options:
- Automatic copying of results to clipboard.
- Strict ISO standard compliance.
3. Result history through a mathematical function called hist.
4. Translates the '*' into a cross when input via keyboard.
5. Changed precedence for function calls using parentheses. They are now
treated like primaries (just like the multiple arguments functions).
6. Improved entryfield navigation when using the mouse. The left and
right direction buttons now take you directly to the beginning or the
end of the current number or symbol name.
7. Using the left arrow button (or the BackSpace key) after an error
should now work under all conditions.
8. Fixed startup from desktop popup menu. From now on WarpCalc changes
the current directory to the one containing the executable whenever
it is started via the desktop popup menu.
