---------------------------------------------------------------------
During the month of December, OS/2 users who register one of my
shareware programs ( PMStripper, DH-Grep-PM, Pastry Box, CCA )
will also receive two additional bonus programs. A description
of my shareware programs may be found on my web page at
http://www2.southwind.net/~dwhawk/share.html and on the BMT Micro
site at http://www.bmtmicro.com . The two bonus programs are
DH_Notify and DH_ClipSave/2.

DH_Notify
---------
DH_Notify is a small PM utility that will open a window on the OS/2
desktop and display a one line message. When the window
is opened there will be 5 beeps and the title bar and border will
flash until the window is closed. The window is about 1.3 inches high
when the video resolution is 800 by 600 and the width is sized to fit
the number of characters in the message. The maximum message length is
256 characters, but the message length should be limited so that all
of it will be on screen. DH_Notify uses the default font and does a
query to determine the font information.

The message must be entered as a command line argument and redirection
is not supported. If no command line argument is entered, a default
"Task Completed" message will be displayed. Since most messages contain
blanks, double quotation marks should be placed around the message.

A desktop program object will be created when DH_Notify is installed.
The program object is configured so that it will prompt the user for the
message to be displayed. This makes it easy for you or a colleague to
leave a message on screen.

I use DH_Notify to tell me when a task running in the background has
been completed. I add the following line to a CMD file or makefile
and then the message is displayed on the desktop.

detach DH_Notify "Your message here"

The detach command is used so that the focus of the background task
is not changed. Without the detach command, the focus would be
changed and the DH_Notify window would need to be closed to terminate
the backgound task.

DH_ClipSave/2:
--------------
DH_ClipSave/2 is an OS/2 PM utility that saves text from the OS/2
clipboard directly to a file without a prompt for a file name.

One problem I have with reading the USENET newsgroups is dealing
with all the information. I copy text to the clipboard and (if I
remember) save it to a file, and then hope I remember what file
name I used and where I located the file.

DH_ClipSave/2 provides a short term solution to that problem. Once
you create one or more DH_ClipSave/2 program objects on your OS/2
desktop, a double click on the DH_ClipSave/2 object will append
the text from the OS/2 clipboard to a file.

The file name may specified on the parameters line in the program
object settings notebook or the default file name may be used.
The default file name is "clipsave" and will be located in the
working directory.

Although this is a PM utility, its window is opened minimized
and the user never sees the window.

Each time DH_ClipSave/2 is executed, a time stamp precedes the text from
the OS/2 clipboard. This may aid the user in locating information in
the file.

DH_ClipSave/2 does NOT modify the OS/2 clipboard or the OS/2 INI
files.
