Monday November 10, 1997:

Due to popular demand, Stardock has begun to make the individual components
of Object Desktop 1.5.2 available as separate products.

Object Desktop, the all-time best selling third party OS/2 product is a
collection of operating system enhancements that come in the form of a
"component". Components that integrate into the operating system provide a
powerful but subtle improvement to OS/2.

Because of the object-oriented nature of Object Desktop, the components
themselves do not require the other components to be installed, thus
allowing users to pick and choose which features they wanted to add to OS/2.

"Due to this nature, quite a few people asked if they could just purchase
the parts they wanted." said Brad Wardell, Stardock Systems, Inc. "Now, if
someone just wants a specific feature of Object Desktop, they can purchase
it from our commerce server."

Stardock's website has a schedule of when each component will be released.
There are currently no plans to release components unique to Object Desktop
Professional.

The first three components available are:

Object Archives: ($29.95)
Makes ZIP files behave like standard OS/2 folders. Users can drag and drop
to and from them, edit files within them, and even run certain programs
within the ZIP file itself.

Control Center ($29.95)
Provides virtual desktops, real-time resource monitoring. Vastly superior
to OS/2's WarpCenter in every respect with a great deal more features and
flexibility.

Keyboard LaunchPad ($24.95)
Users can now assign programs to run via hot-keys. For instance, users
could assign their mail program to "Cltr-Alt-M" and Netscape to
"Ctrl-Alt-N". Or have several programs associated to launch with a single
keystroke.

The Object Desktop components are available on Stardock's commerce server.
Users can order the component and download immediately.

Visit http://www.stardock.com to obtain the components and see first hand
how powerful OS/2 can be.
