The OS/2 SIG of the Madison PC Users Group (MPCUG) will be holding its next
monthly meeting on Thursday, November 20, 1997 at The ComputerPLUS, 2120 West
Greenview Drive, Middleton, Wisconsin. The meeting will run from 6:00pm to
8:00pm.
We will start out by celebrating OS/2's 10th birthday. IBM will provide cake,
goodies to hand out, and some things to raffle. Come and share the fun as we
review OS/2's history from its birth to its present form as a 32-bit,
multi-tasking, multi-threaded operating system. We will also discuss IBM's
plans to release OS/2 Warp 5 next year.
Our topic of the month will feature a demonstration of the current beta for
Lotus SmartSuite for OS/2 Warp 4, which should have a general release in
early 1998. Come and see the exciting features of this long-anticipated suite
of OS/2 applications.
The ComputerPLUS is located off of Highway 14 west of the Beltline Highway
(Highways 12 & 14). From Highway 14, turn north on Pinehurst Drive by the
Rayovac Distribution Center. Take a left on Greenview Drive and continue
straight ahead to The ComputerPLUS. The meeting is held in their training
center. The meeting is free. Light refreshments are available.
Regular meetings of the OS/2 SIG are held on the Thursday after the 3rd
Wednesday of every month.
