Johannes Martin Software-Entwicklung announced today the availability of Nota
Musica Sequencer for OS/2. As its name suggests, this program is a MIDI
sequencer, i.e. it enables you to play and record music files on sound cards
and musical instruments, that are equipped with a MIDI interface. Nota Musica
Sequencer supports the new RealTime-MIDI interface of OS/2 Warp Version 4,
which offers high quality and precision music.
"Nota Musica Sequencer is the first program that allows recording of MIDI
files under OS/2 using an up-to-date graphical user interface," told project
manager Ludger Martin on the occasion of the introduction of the product.
"Thanks to IBM-Voicetype support you can control recording and playback of
music from your musical instrument. Speak to your computer, when recording
shall begin!", he explained while playing tunes on a music keyboard. "Once
recorded, tunes can be imported into the music notation program Nota Musica
for further editing and to create printouts," added Johannes Martin, founder
of the company that is well known for OS/2 specific multimedia software.
Up to now, only MIDI files of type 0 and 1 could be played back under OS/2.
Now, using Nota Musica Sequencer, you can play {\em all} MIDI files. A MPU401
compatible sound card with wave-table or a MIDI keyboard is recommended for
use with Nota Musica Sequencer.
Nota Musica Sequencer is sold for US$27. Discounts of up to US$17 are

Johannes Martin Software-Entwicklung kuendigte heute die Verfuegbarkeit
von Nota Musica Sequencer fuer OS/2 an. Wie der Name schon sagt, ist
dieses Programm ein MIDI-Sequencer, d.h. es erlaubt die Wiedergabe und
Aufnahme von Musik-Dateien auf Musikkarten und Musikinstrumenten, die mit
einer MIDI-Schnittstelle ausgeruestet sind. Nota Musica Sequencer
untersuetzt die neue RealTime-MIDI Schnittstelle von OS/2 Warp Version 4,
die Musikausgabe in hoher Qualitaet und Praezision bietet.
"Nota Musica Sequencer ist das erste Programm, das die Aufnahme von
MIDI-Dateien unter OS/2 mit einer zeitgemaessen Benutzerschnittstelle
ermoeglicht", sagte Projektleiter Ludger Martin anlaesslich der
Vorstellung des Produkts. "Dank IBM-Voicetype Unterstuetzung koennen Sie
die Aufnahme und Wiedergabe von Musik von Ihrem Musikinstrument aus
steuern. Rufen Sie Ihrem Computer zu, wann die Aufnahme beginnen soll!"
erklaerte er, waehrend er an einer Klaviatur Noten einspielte.
"Aufgenommene Noten koennen in das Notationsprogramm Nota Musica
geladen und dort weiter verarbeitet und gedruckt werden", fuegte
Johannes Martin, Gruender der durch OS/2-spezifische
Multimediaprogramme bekanntgewordenen Firma hinzu.
Bisher konnten nur MIDI-Dateien der Typen 0 und 1 unter OS/2 gespielt
werden. Mit Nota Musica Sequencer koennen nun {\em alle} MIDI-Dateien
wiedergegeben werden. Zum Betrieb von Nota Musica Sequencer wird eine
MPU401 kompatible Soundkarte mit Wave-Table oder ein MIDI-Keyboard
empfohlen.
