is the only line you need to remember. This is where the magic happens
- or not. It's in your hands. The time is now, the future ours!
Excited, but ready, capable and willing to go to the end.

Opera Summary
=============
Opera, our advanced Internet/Intranet browser, is developed in Norway. It is
user-friendly, versatile, fast and has numerous unique and sophisticated
features. Multiple Windows, even at startup! Runs on 'slow' PCs as well as
fast! Full keyboard interface allows for fun, easy and efficient surfing. Gone
are the days when surfing meant putting your arm out of practice the next day.
Customizable user interface. Advanced Multimedia features. Standard and
enhanced HTML. Advanced User Interface. We really care. A number of features
useful for people with a handicap. Opera works very well as a front end for
CD-ROMS. The ultimate kiosk. Useful features for Intranet usage. Opera is
written from scratch and is not based on the code of Mosaic or any other
browser. Opera can run independently under Windows 3.1/95/NT and does not
require Win32s.
Company Info
============
Opera Software A/S is based in Oslo, Norway. It has been founded in 1994 by
Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner and Geir Ivarsoy, who then worked for the
Norwegian Telecommunication company 'Telenor'. Their vision was to create an
Internet and Multimedia client that can be used by all computer users -
including those with older machines and those with physical disabilities. The
result was 'Opera', the most amazing software product in its category. Jon and
Geir, together with a team of highly qualified programmers, marketers and
translators, are now set to make a significant impact on a market dominated by
two monoliths - Microsoft and Netscape.
My Idea:
=====
I have an idea; many folks ask us about a native Mac and OS/2 version, but we
don't have enough funds to dedicate coders to these projects at the moment. So
I came up with this: we set up two 'trust' accounts, monitored by a chartered
accountant (company). Then we go to the Mac and OS/2 folks and say to them:
"if you want us to develop a native version, why don't you put your money
where your mouth is? Go to that site, fill in the registration form together
with your CC payment of $35, and the money will ONLY be used to pay the
programmers working on Mac or OS/2 version respectively. This way we will make
sure your needs are met in the shortest possible time, and as when the program
comes out, you obviously get it for free - and the regular price will be $45
instead of the $35 you paid in advance. In short, it's a win-win-win
situation, because you win (you get the browser), we win (we can market it
much earlier) and the platform wins too."
We only need app. 3.000 people to register for each platform. This will
generate app $100.000 for which you can pay the coders to start. Do you think
they will 'go for it'?
I know the Mac users are peeved off with M$IE, and the OS/2 users are peeved
off with Netscape, which is slow, bloated and crash-prone.
This could be THE SOLUTION to beat both companies on both platforms! Let me
know what you think ASAP, as I want to go ahead with it, but would appreciate
your input.
