Now's the time to make the move to network computing!
IBM is sponsoring several WorkSpace On-Demand technical seminars around the
world. These classes are open to customers, partners, and IBM employees.
WorkSpace On-Demand (http://www.software.ibm.com/workspace) is designed to
provide the benefits of network computing on the Intel-compatible hardware
most companies have already got. Many customers are struggling with the high
cost of managing PCs (particularly in branch offices for non-power users),
which "Scientific American" estimates at a total of $23,000 per year.
WorkSpace On-Demand provides the full benefits of PC applications (from the
oldest DOS applications, through Windows and OS/2, to the most modern
web-based Java applications) but does so with the cost of ownership of a
simple terminal. From "ground zero" all software loads from the server -- the
hard disk in a PC is now optional! Installation is a snap -- virtually any PC
is already a WorkSpace On-Demand client. You can even turn a PC into an easy
"Netscape terminal" to deliver state-of-the-art web applications with minimum
fuss. The benefits are enormous, including roaming, fast application updates,
easy servicing, and quick rollouts.
