MISC: Applications Accepted for New Lotus Smartsuite Beta Program

Lotus is now accepting applications to the beta program for the new Lotus
Smartsuite for OS/2 Warp Version 4. Visit the Lotus beta application homepage
at http://beta.lotus.com/warpbeta to participate.
Even if you have contacted Lotus Development in the past, you should visit
this web site and complete a Beta Nomination Form. Beta participants will be
selected based only on information provided on the form.
Nominations will be accepted until October 19, 1997. A limited number of beta
participants will be selected during the week of October 20th. Additional
beta participants will be selected the first week of November, and beta
feedback will be accepted until December 8. Those selected for the beta
program will be notified by e-mail by October 31. Participants should receive
a beta CD-ROM no later than November 14.
All participants are expected to install the beta applications they agreed to
test within three days of receipt of the CD-ROM and to begin providing
feedback within five days. The beta will only be available in "Global
English" (a combined North American and International English edition). IBM
will supply a required "Special Edition" FixPak for OS/2 Warp 4, designed for
installation on a North American English edition of OS/2 Warp 4.
Customers selected to participate in the Beta program who only have access to
a non-North American English edition of OS/2 Warp 4 should be able to install
the FixPak by replacing the SYSLEVEL.OS2 file on their OS/2 system with a
SYSLEVEL.OS2 file we plan to provide with the Beta; however, installing this
FixPak on a non-North American English edition of OS/2 Warp 4 will create a
system which is unsupported.
To participate, customers must have available a non-production OS/2 Warp 4
system running on a Pentium 90 or higher processor with 32 Mb or more of
Random Access Memory (RAM). Disk space requirements are provided at the Web
site. Lotus reserves the right to limit participation in this beta program.
