Athena Design Releases the Bug List for the Mesa<TM> Application for
OS/2(R),
Boston - November 3, 1995 - Athena Design, Inc. today made public its
list of known bugs in the Mesa<TM> Application for OS/2(R) version
2.0.4. The bug list contains all of the known bugs and some feature
requests for Athena Design's popular Mesa spreadsheet application.
The list is prioritized by severity of the bug.
"Part of being a responsible company is letting people know where our
products have problems," says David Pollak, President of Athena
Design. "We want potential customers to make an informed choice in
buying our software. Knowing what we know about it will help them
better make that choice. Open communications between customers and
manufacturers will serve the interests of all parties."
Athena Design provides e-mail and fax technical support to all
registered users of Mesa for 90 days after they purchase the
application and additional yearly contracts including phone support
are also available. Athena Design also encourages all Mesa users to
report bugs and make suggestions about product enhancements. Bug
reports and suggestions about Mesa should be faxed to 1-617-426-7665
or e-mailed to: m2-support@athena.com.
"Mesa users are the best qualified people to help us improve our
product," said Dave Rodger, Product Development Manager. "We want to
get input and feedback on Mesa so we can continue to improve it and
deliver more value to our customers. Making sure that the application
works well gives us a double benefit, as the fixes will directly
apply to the Mesa Developer Object Kit (Mesa DOK<TM>) on which the
Mesa application was built."
The bug list is available in PostScript and Mesa format on the Athena
Design ftp site. Additionally, people are invited to download a demo
of the Mesa spreadsheet application to judge it for themselves.

Mesa is a full-featured, 32-bit spreadsheet offering huge, three
dimensional workbooks. The application also provides unlimited
undo/redo, multi-threaded recalculation and Workplace Shell
interaction with OS/2's color and font palettes. Mesa for OS/2 uses
OS/2's REXX scripting language. Mesa includes many unique usability
features including SmartFill <TM>, Formula Inheritance<TM> and drag
and drop color and fonts. Mesa also supports real-time data feeds
from a variety of sources including financial markets.
Mesa DOK is built from the same core set of 32-bit spreadsheet
objects as the Mesa application, enabling DOK users the ability to
embed the advantages of a powerful spreadsheet within their own
custom applications. With as few as 20 lines of programming code,
application developers or ISV's can embed a Mesa DOK object such as a
spreadsheet window in their applications.
Mesa, SmartFill, Formula Inheritance, SmartSize and Mesa DOK are
trademarks of Athena Design, Inc. OS/2 is a registered trademark of
International Business Machines Corporation. Other trademarks which
apply belong to their respective companies.
