XLCONNECT LAUNCHES IBM AND LOTUS DEDICATED PRACTICE
WITH BRANDED INTRANET SOLUTIONS

* XLConnectNets' web-enabled solutions address frequent business needs

EXTON, PA --  (July 23, 1997)  -- XLConnect Solutions, Inc., (Nasdaq: XLCT)
announced today that it is building a dedicated IBM and Lotus practice with
100 engineers focused on creating cutting-edge internet and Intranet
solutions for corporate computing environments.  Next month, XLConnect will
launch its new Intranet solutions offering called XLConnectNets =99 which will
provide its clientele with total Intranet solutions through one source. The
dedicated IBM and Lotus practice will support these and other solutions for
XLConnect business partners and clients.

To respond to the growing demand for Intranet technologies, XLConnect will
train a force of consultants across the country who will have multiple
certifications on IBM and Lotus products such as MQSeries*, DB2*, Lotus
Notes** and Domino**.   To provide Intranet solutions, the XLConnectNets
suite will initially consist of three web-enabled modules that address
frequent, specific business needs:  Connect.Sales for sales force automation;
Connect.Project for project management; and  Connect.DeployIT for information
technology deployment.  The first suite of applications are powered by Lotus'
award-winning Domino Server.

According to Tim Wallace, President and Chief Operating Officer, XLConnect,
"We chose to build a dedicated practice and Intranet application solutions
around IBM and Lotus software because of their proven technologies and
potential advantages to business customers.  Our certified consultants and
partners will address common business problems with these bundled solutions,
and add their creativity in developing competitive new ways to leverage
Intranet and internet technologies."

The IBM and Lotus practice at XLConnect will have full time management,
marketing and technical support services, and plans to conduct end user
pilots, and maintain a solutions demonstration lab in XLConnect's Executive
Briefing Center located in its Exton, Pennsylvania headquarters.  In addition
to establishing a trained and certified base of resources, XLConnect receives
support through IBM's business partner support programs, and is a Premier
BESTeam member and Lotus Business Partners Program-Premium Partner.
XLConnect is a three time winner of the Lotus Beacon award, an award for
industry-leading technology issued annually at the Lotusphere business
partner recognition event.

According to Ian Bonner, Vice President, IBM Worldwide Software Channel
