This is for the ml.org DYNDNS/2 3.3 users:
Since ML.org's recent move to their new provider their DNS name had to be
switched to new IP. As a result, it took a day or 2 to notify DNS servers of
the world of the new IP. Unfortunaly, _NOT_ every one _IS_ able to resolv the
correct IP. If DYNDNS/2 is not updating your IP (eg. DNS table may or may not
be updating... Pleae check...) Then you may not be resolving correct IP. To
test this do the following at the command line.
do:
[c:\]host members.ml.org
result should be:
[c:\]host members.ml.org
members.ml.org = 209.68.0.85
If the result is = to any other IP then it is not resolving correctly. What is
happening is that DYNDNS/2 is getting a REDIRECT message and DYNDNS/2 is not
enabled to handle RE-DIRECT messages. To fix your machine you must add an
entry to your HOSTS file. To do this load your TCPIP configuration folder. Go
to the HOSTSNAMES section (page 2) and press the Add button. Then under IP
place "209.68.0.85" and under hostname place "members.ml.org". After that check
the "Look through HOSTS list before going to name server" box and reboot. Or
you can edit the host/config.sys file your self. This should fix all resolveing
problem and resolv the correct ML.org updateing WWW server. If problems keeps
hapening then E-mail me (NewOrder@flash.net) or catch me on IRC (I'm NewOrder
on Undernet's #OS/2,#os2prog,#Computers,#soundoff). If all else fails, I'll
release a version that will no resolve "members.ml.org" and just go to the IP.
