Hello again!!!
Since my first port of gnuserv/client/doit to OS/2 back in May, I have found
many problems with the TCP/IP interface that it used. So, I have done a
complete rewrite using OS/2 shared memory as opposed to TCP/IP. I also
switched from GCC/EMX to Watcom C. The results of both of these actions?
Smaller .exe's and faster response time. It also means that one does not have
to have TCP/IP installed or configured in any certain way at all, in fact,
this version should work on any 32bit version of OS/2 out of the box.
Currently in HOBBES http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/incoming/os2_gnuserv_r3.zip and
will be placed in /pub/os2/unix/apps/emacs/. I will also be uploading it Leo.
What is gnuserv/client/doit? A nice way to automate/control Emacs.
What is Emacs? See What is GNU.
What is GNU? http://ww.gnu.org/
