SCREEN READER/2 LIGHTS THE WAY
Visually-impaired individuals will soon have a new tool to help make
using computers easier, faster and more efficient. Screen Reader/2
version 2.0 is a powerful software tool that converts information on the
computer screen to speech or Braille. It allows blind and visually-
impaired users to create and edit documents, manage files, analyze data,
and even access the Internet.
This OS/2 tool enables users to run OS/2, DOS, and Windows applications.
Users are kept informed of screen activity and cursor movement at all
times. Screen Reader/2 can be set up to read back typed characters,
word and sentences. It also has mouse emulation functions that can
give visually-impaired users drag-and-drop capabilities.
Screen Reader/2 will be available November 17.
