latest addition to it's product lineup, ProNews/2!
ProNews/2 is a full featured USENET News client for OS/2 which contains many
powerful features not found on ANY platform.
Process manager - The user is given complete control over tasks that are
queued. They may be removed or reprioritized. Queued items may even be
saved and restored from program run to program run. The user may also kill
all tasks associated with a particular group.
Powerful Filtering - Full Boolean filtering (both global and on a group by
group basis) makes getting rid of unwanted SPAM a breeze.
Watching - Never miss another important post again! Watching is a flexible as
the filtering and is available on a group by group and global basis.
Watched messages can be highlighted and/or automatically downloaded.
Smart Decoding - ProNews/2 features truly intelligent decoding of multimessage
binaries. It will automatically scan for all pieces, and when found,
Pronews will order and download them for you. If pieces are missing, the
articles will be flagged as such to stop you from wasting valuable time
retrieving them.
ROT13 Support - Very useful for rec.humor and movie newsgroups.
MIME and UUDecoding - ProNews/2 has built in, on the fly, decoders for those
alt.binaries groups.
Manual Subscribing - It is possible to manually subscribe to groups for those
who do not wish to keep the entire list of newsgroups on their hard drives.
True Message Threading - Through the use of a custom tree control you are able
to view the USENET postings as they were intended.
Retrive entire threads with one keystroke - This comes in very handy when you
find a subject you are interested in.
Single Key message reading - The space bar acts as the PageDown key in the
article window, then when the end of the article is reached it
automatically places you in the unread next article.
Fully customizable toolbars - The toolbar for each newsgroup may be customized
to tailor to the groups specific content! Never have to wish that the
programmers had added an option to the toolbar. Add them yourself quickly
and easily!
Posting - Standard posting via SMTP or USENET. Easy attachment of multiple
files for posting. Post and mail at the same time. Customizable reply and
forward messages.
Configurability - Nearly every setting for the program can also be applied on a
group by group basis allowing each individual group to be customized to
your needs.
ProNews/2 is now entering a public beta. We'd appreciate it if you gave it a
