This new version of the popular ALiVe link maintenance package is finally
starting to shape up into a full featured app. The latest version sports the
following new features that are sure to be useful to any webmaster:
-- The ability to select any number of HTML files (or Netscape bookmark
files) for checking
-- The ability to save down a "Site List" so that you no longer must
import filenames a file at a time.
-- Crawling a site starting with a particular URL. For example, to crawl
www.yahoo.com, you would just tell ALiVe! to crawl from
http://www.yahoo.com/ and off it would check EVERY link in a completely
automated manner. This also works with file URLs, allowing you to check
files on the local disk as well as the network.
As this is an alpha release, downloaders/testers are encouraged to send in bug
reports as frequently as possible. Future versions of the app will include
new software tools to make this process even easier...
