I have posted DSPTCHB1.ZIP to hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/incoming. It will be in
incoming for now. Later it will be in pub/os2/apps/internet/suite
It is distinctly non-professional, but it works -- usually.
Dispatch.cmd takes three subcommands: M to send email via SMTP, N
to post news to newsgroups, and T to transfer a file via FTP.
There are also commands to configure these functions and to perform them
in interactive mode.
Sending mail, one can designate one or more text files and one or more
binary files. Dispatch treats the first text file as the default
'note', and then attaches the others in the order listed. Binary files
are Base64 encoded. All mail parameters can be set using a combination
of a mail config file and command line parameters.
So, to send an email message with mime encoded attachment one might type:
Dispatch M -Cdispatch.cfg -Tcbarr@ibm.net(Chris Barr) -SThis is a
Test -Atstnote.txt -A*bulldog.tif
Bulldog.tif will be encoded and both attachments will appended to the
email headers.
Posting News. One uses commandline parameters or a combination of a
config file and a control file. The control file includes SUBJECT,
NEWSGROUPS and FOLLOWUP GROUPS. You also designate one text file and/or
one binary file. The program uuencodes the binary file.
Sending files through FTP, the program takes directory and file name
info and the server name.
It is written in Object REXX. It also requires REXXLIB (included).
It is currently Beta 01.
To register it, email me. I had to license the DLL's, so there is a slight
charge for the full version.
