-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am readying the first issue of OS/2 e-Zine! for Oct. 31. A little
behind schedule but better late than never, and all that.
OS/2 e-Zine! will be available in HTML and ASCII format, and shortly,
in .INF format. It will eventually be a for profit venture.
Advertising in the ezine will be kept to a reasonable minimum, both in
# of ads and in size of ads/graphics. It is a graphically
non-intensive site with thoughtful use of screenshots and other
pictures (i.e. most pictures are links to follow instead of inline).
The ezine will cover a wide range of OS/2 related topics from news to
reviews and opinions. Check us out on Oct. 31!
The first issue will review one commercial product, and three
shareware products (future issues will have more reviews). These are
the products I would like to cover:
commercial: Object Desktop
shareware - three of: PMMail and/or Post Road Mailer (not strictly
shareware), PMView, Zap-O-Comm, NPSWPS.
If any of you would like to write about one of the above and have
relevant experience or feel you can get it and finish an article by
the 24th email me immediately! If you have an alternate product you
would like to cover for the first issue (or later ones) email me ASAP,
as well. Reviewing one or all of the shareware apps may be an option.
I am also including an Internet resources section which is a review of
three or so cool and OS/2 relevant web locations or other Internet
resources. If you would like this assignment it is up for grabs. If
you just want to make a suggestion of a site to review, send that in
too.
Most of the other departments are covered or I'm writing them. If you
have any suggestions for articles/types of articles don't hesitate to
send them in!
That's about it. As I said, deadline for articles is the 24th of
October. That gives us a week to hash out details and editing. If
you are one of the people who has already stated an interest in
writing for the magazine and you did not receive an email with the
above information, get back to me right away!
