---------------------------------------------------------------------
This is just to let you know that my first series has finished in EDM/2, so
that means that the pages on my site are back on line. These pages go through
writing a device driver in C from ground 0. I have cleverly named my driver
the Hello World Device Driver. The series covers 1) anatomy of a OS/2 device
driver, 2) adding IOCTL calls, and 3) passing Data using IOCTLs.
Also a new series appears on my page entitled "From Hello world to Real
World". EDM/2 has picked it up so my link will go there for the duration of
the series. This series will illustrate how to write a real device driver for
a data acquisition card. You can look forward to learning about the
following, 1) limiting the driver to one instance of an application, 2) making
fastio I/O requests, and 3) Interrupt processing.
Visit http://avenger.mri.psu.edu/os2page.html for all this and more.
1) Doing I/O using TESTCFG$
2) Doing I/O using IOPL 16-bit segments
3) Port of Fastio$ which uses Watcom- WFASTIO$
4) Other links pertaining to Device Driver's and data acquisition
That's all for now
