CHAMPAIGN-URBANA AREA OS/2 USERS' GROUP MEETING
OCTOBER 2ND 1995, 7pm
The Champaign-Urbana OS/2 Users' Group announces that their October
meeting will be next Monday, October 2nd in the Ornamental
Horticulture Building on the University of Illinois campus.
The October meeting will feature demonstrations by Kris Kwilas of two
widely advertised products, Avarice and Object Desktop, both by Stardock
Systems. Avarice is a native OS/2 virtual reality game in the same genre
as Myst (http://oeonline.com/~stardock/avarice.html). Object Desktop is a
complete set of extensions to and replacements for many of the WorkPlace
Shell's features and has been the most anticipated OS/2 software since
Warp itself (http://oeonline.com/~stardock/wonderful.html). The
demonstrations may take place on the beta release of OS/2 Warp Server - in
which case some of its features will also be highlighted.
Door prizes will include a CD-ROM copy of the soon to be released IBM
FunPak for OS/2 Warp containing twelve separate programs, ranging from
games (Star Emperor, Rapid Assault, SimCity Classic, and others), the
American Heritage Dictionary, educational software for children, and money
management software.
Announcements concerning pricing for academic and administrative use on
campus of OS/2 and other OS/2 software will also be made. Bring your
questions, answers, and support to the 2nd floor of the Ornamental
Horticulture Building (behind the Edward R. Madigan Laboratory, off Dorner
drive) at 7pm this Monday October 2nd.
Any additional information will be posted to the uiuc.org.os2ug newsgroup.
