bfa Ireland wish to announce the release of version 2.0 of their popular
development tool, bfaError.

The bfaError Error Reporting Tool is a software development tool used for
improved error reporting in OS/2 programs. The tool includes an executable,
bfaerr.exe, and a dynamic link library, bfaerror.dll.
* Allows the developer to display an informative error message when an error
condition occurs in a program.
* Error messages are displayed in a message box
* May be used from PM or non-PM programs
* Also allows the developer to provide an INF file containing further
information for these errors, which can be accessed from the Help button on
the message box.
* Two .inf files are included with bfaError - pm_errs.inf and dos_errs.inf.
These files contain PM error codes and DOS error codes respectively, for use
with the bfaError help facility.
* Can use the IBM supplied DBMSG.INF to display information about DB2/2 errors.
* Exception handler which gives more information about an exception condition
than the system exception handler.
* Can check for stack overflow even in thread 1
* Optional logging to a file for fatal errors and exceptions.
* Source file, function and line number of error location displayed for fatal
errors and exceptions. (For exceptions this needs full debug information,
though if a .SYM file is available partial information can be displayed).
* Can use .DBG files as an alternative to debug information in modules.
stripdbg.exe is supplied to create these .DBG files.
* Call stack optionally logged for fatal errors and exceptions
* Supports IBM CSet++ v2.1 and IBM VisualAge C++ v3.0
* Supports OS/2 v2.11 and higher.
* Supports 16-bit DLLs called from 32-bit code. (Can display debug info from
16-bit DLLs compiled with IBM C/2 v1.1)
* Resource files are provided to facilitate the translation of the various
messages to another language.
* No runtime distribution fees. Any programs developed with bfaError may be
distributed without charge along with the runtime DLL and EXE. To install run
install from an OS/2 window or run the INSTALL.CMD object in the Drive A
folder.
