A few weeks ago, we asked the academic community to help us show IBM the
importance of offering an academic version of OS/2 Warp Version 4. Thanks to
your generous responses, IBM has now made the decision to release an academic
version of OS/2. This decision is a direct result of the time and effort that
everyone took to provide feedback to IBM. Officials at IBM took the time to
read your opinions and act accordingly. This shows how important it is to be
involved and that people can make a difference.

As a direct result of your efforts, the full license version of OS/2 Warp 4
(aka Merlin) will be available to the academic community for well under the
$100 price point. The academic version does not include a microphone, but a
variety of excellent microphones are available for reasonable prices. The
product will be available around the 19th of November. Indelible Blue will be
allowed to take pre-orders for the academic version beginning Friday, November
8, 1996.

Again, thanks for all of the feedback from the academic community that made
this possible! I know that it is difficult to take time away from your busy
schedules, but many of you were extensive in your comments and suggestions.
Almost everyone provided thoughtful and constructive feedback that helped
tremendously toward providing credibility for the academic community to IBM.

Sincerely,

Buck Bohac President Indelible Blue, Inc.
