The Phoenix OS/2 Society has a couple of VERY cool meetings coming up, with
SofTouch Systems and JFactory.
Date: Tuesday, November 12
Location: Mountain Preserve Reception Center, 1431 E Dunlap
Our guest at a joint meeting with the Internet SIG and the (rebooted)
Developer's SIG will be Kevin Gartner, Rogue Wave's director of Java
products. Rogue Wave is an Oregon company that makes JFactory, a powerful
application generator designed for rapid Java application and applet
development. It allows you to visually design Java applications and applets,
test your interfaces, and quickly generate Java source code. It's time to
learn a bit about this programming language that will spread across the Web!
The Internet / Developer's SIG meets in the afternoon, from 3:30 to 5:30.
It's worth sneaking out of work early to get to this one.
SofTouch Systems is the predominant OS/2 utility software vendor in the OS/2
marketplace, best known for The GammaTech Utilities. SofTouch has seven major
products, all so feature-packed that when asked to talk about every product,
Felix Cruz said, "I can't! They all do too much!"On Tuesday, November 12th,
we'll see just how much SofTouch's Felix Cruz can pack into his presentation.
He'll focus mostly on the newest versions of SofTouch's software, UniMaint
and FileStar/2.
The general meeting starts at 7:00PM but a Q&A session gets underway at
6:30PM. If you want to ask other OS/2 users for advice about motherboards
hints, winning at the latest OS/2 games, or nearly anything else, come early
to hear what other users have to say. The meeting is held at the Mountain
Preserve Reception Center at 1431 East Dunlap.
