To make programming for OpenGL (or GPI) easier, I've modified my screen saver
to work as a development environment (which is actually what it was to begin
with... but that's a different story). I've uploaded the toolkit to HOBBES. It
is currently at
ftp://hobbes.nmsu.edu/incoming/sstoolkt.zip
but it should be moved to
ftp://hobbes.nmsu.edu/dev32/sstoolkt.zip
It has a readme that explains what you must do to get an animation working. I
will add this, however.
You have three messages to respond to: UM_INIT_SAVER, UM_KILL_SAVER, and
WM_PAINT. You'll get the paint message the number of times a second that the
Frequency control is set to on the timing page of the notebook. The init comes
and the beginning and the kill is for clean-up. I don't think I could make it
much simpler.
Please provide me some feedback via e-mail (Ernestc@cris.com), you wouldn't
believe what it does for my ego!!
Be forewarned, OpenGL is a processor HOG-N-A-HALF!!!
