MICROLEARN'S FUTURE OS/2 GAME PRODUCTS
Gothenburg, Sweden, August 30, 1995
This document describes the future direction of the OS/2 game development
at MicroLearn Nordic. Consider this an "official" document from MicroLearn
Nordic.
NOW
===
"MicroLearn Game Pack, Volume II" (MLGP2) is now released. It took a lot
longer to complete than we expected, but it also got much better than our
first intentions. Hope you all will feel that it was worth waiting for.
Currently, it's only available on CD, but a diskette version will probably
be available later (without some features like the CD Audio music, for
example).
"MicroLearn Game Pack, Volume 1" (MLGP1) is now withdrawn. Some of the
most popular games from this game package will be available in
much-improved versions in a later game pack (see below).
MSR development Corp. is distributing MLGP2 in all countries outside
Europe. MSR's contact information is:
Phone: (409) 564-1862
Fax: (409) 560-5868
Internet: sales@msrdev.com or support@msrdev.com
Compuserve: GO MSRDEV or 74431,1621
In Europe, different companies are taking care of the distribution
depending on country. It will take some time before the translated
versions are available in the European countries.
THE FUTURE
==========
These future game products are under development at MicroLearn Nordic:
* "MicroLearn Math Pack". Our first games in the "edutainment" sector.
The user interface will roughly be the same as in the MLGP2 games.
* "MicroLearn Game Pack, Volume III" (MLGP3). Four of the most popular
games from MLGP1 will be included in much-enhanced versions, as well
as four entirely new games. The user interface will be further enhanced
based on the "MLGP2 style".
* "MicroLearn Pool" (initial working name, final name not yet decided).
Our first stand-alone game (not part of any game package). A 3D
pool game with very advanced graphics.
BETA TESTING
============
If you're interested in (beta) testing the software described above, do
the following:
Write an e-mail to beta@microlearn.se. In the e-mail you must supply
the following information:
* your internet address (even if it's the same as in the e-mail header)
* what product(s) you want to test
* description of your system used for testing (especially graphics adapter
and, if present, sound card)
We will select a number of beta testers that will take part in the
testing. The tester have to send us information for each beta build
within 5 working days after the build is available. If a tester
doesn't send us feedback, he/she will be excluded from future
testing. The testers that are "left" when the product is released
will get the shrink-wrapped product for free.
If you are chosen to be a beta tester, you will have to sign a NDA.
To join the beta program, you have to be able to get files via ftp.
You must be running OS/2 Warp or later with 256 colors or more. Also,
you have to have 8 MB RAM or more. MMPM/2 optional.
The deadline for applying to the beta test program is October 15, 1995
for the Math Pack and MLGP3. December 01 is the deadline for the Pool
game beta testing. We will only contact the beta testers we select.
