On ftp.leo.org (a distributed network of FTP servers in Munich,
Germany) exists a well known and quite heavily used OS/2 archive under
/pub/comp/os/os2.
These FTP servers are maintained by the respective owners (several
universities in Munich). The archive maintenance is done by volunteers
and without compensation.
Meanwhile, disk space is getting very tight. Currently, the OS/2
section of the archive occupies about 500MB. Further expansion would
only be possible by adding a new disk.
Hereby we would like to ask companies to check, if they could help
supporting the archive by donation of a SCSI disk (about 2GB or above).
This archive is certainly of help for many companies because it helps
reduce efforts of their employees on looking for drivers, CSD's and
other OS/2 related stuff.
Should a company see a way how they could donate something, please
send mail to <os2@leo.org>, for coordination. Of course, multiple
smaller donation could be combined to purchase a larger disk.
The company ARS GmbH (for which I work and which my work for the OS/2
archive maintenance certainly costs several hours of my working time
every month) in Munich would help by offering to buy a disk from the
donations to their own buying conditions.
