e Syrians determine their own fate, so arming the opposition is
more palatable than direct U.S. intervention. The administration announced
last week that it believes Assad has used chemical weapons but said
the intelligence wasn't clear enough to be certain that the regime has
crossed President Barack Obama's announced "red line" of definite chemical
weapons use that he said would have "enormous consequences" for Assad's
government. Some senior leaders, including Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman
of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, are skeptical about the wisdom of
providing arms to such a broad and complex mix of opposition groups.
But officials say there is a growing realization that, under increasing
pressure from Congress and other allied nations, the U.S. might soon have
to do more for the Free Syrian Army. The two-year civil war has
left an estimated 70,000 people dead and hundreds of thousands of refugees.High-level
meetings on the latest developments in the issue have been going on
all week, including one between Dempsey and Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel,
who just returned from the Mideast.According to a U.S. official and a
U.N. diplomat, intelligence agencies are looking into allegations that chemical
weapons were used in Syria after the two March 19 attacks that
U.S., British, French and Qatari officials have referred to. They provided
no details on the new alleged attacks. This emerging shift within the administration
comes even as Assad a
The U.S. has identified the mastermind of the Benghazi attack, sources tell
Fox News, though the individual apparently is walking free in Libya. The
confirmation from multiple sources comes more than seven months after the
assault on two U.S. locations in Benghazi, Libya, where four Americans --
including Ambassador Chris Stevens -- were killed. President Obama pledged
after the attack that "justice will be done."But one source told Fox
News the government is "sitting on" information."We basically don't want
to upset anybody, and the problem is, if Ambassador Stevens' family knew
that we were sitting on information about the people who killed their
son, their brother, on and on, then, and we could look them
as a government in the face, then we're messing up. We're messing
up," the source said.Fox News spoke exclusively with one special operator
who watched the events unfold in real time and has debriefed those
who were part of the response. He remains anonymous for his safety
and has decided to talk because he says he and others connected
with the Sept. 11, 2012, attacks in Benghazi are frustrated with the
excuses and lack of a military response since Stevens and three other
Americans were killed."We have all the capability, all the training, all
the capacity, to kill and capture not only terrorists involved, with the
specific events of 9/11, and Ambassador Stevens' death, but terrorists that
are feeding other regions including Europe th

No drilling in the Gulf. At the end of the day, the
economy is not doing well. The Sierra Club, Credo Action -- the activist
arm of cell phone company CREDO Mobile -- and others have since
launched a multi-front pressure campaign that includes a petition, a protest
outside company headquarters and a Facebook graphic that reads: Hey Zuck,
pull your ads supporting Keystone XL.The people on Facebook who made Mark
Zuckerberg a billionaire need to know that he is using his fortune
to bankroll pro-Keystone XL propaganda," said Becky Bond, CREDOs political
director.Zuckerberg, one of the worlds most successful entrepreneurs, has
never publicly revealed his political party affiliation. But he has openly
and generously spent his money across the political landscape on causes
he deems worthy and in support of politicians who share his ideas
on economic and education reform, including New Jersey Republican Gov. Chris
Christie, for whom he held a fundraiser in February. FWD.US has answered
the recent criticism by saying the group is trying to deliver its
message to the wide range of voters. The group is committed to showing
support for elected officials who promote the policy changes needed to build
the knowledge economy, said FWD.US spokeswoman Kate Hansen. Maintaining
two separate entities, Americans for a Conservative Direction and the Council
for American Job Growth, to support elected officials across the political
spectrum separately mea
The number of Americans seeking unemployment aid fell last week to seasonally
adjusted 324,000, the lowest since January 2008. The drop points to fewer
layoffs and possibly more hiring. The Labor Department says weekly applications
fell 18,000, the second straight sharp drop. The four-week average, a less
volatile measure, plummeted 16,000 to 342,250.Applications are a proxy for
layoffs. But fewer job cuts are only one side of the equation:
Companies also need to be confident enough to add workers for job
growth to pick up and lower the unemployment rate.Economists forecast that
the economy added 160,000 jobs last month. That's much better than the
88,000 added in March, but below last year's pace of nearly 185,000
per month. The unemployment rate is expected to remain unchanged at 7.6
percent. The government will release the April employment report Friday.Weekly
applications at or below 350,000 are generally consistent with moderate
hiring. But other reports have signaled a worsening jobs picture. On Wednesday,
payroll provider ADP said companies added just 119,000 jobs in April. And
a survey of manufacturers by the Institute for Supply Management found that
a measure of employment fell sharply last month. Many companies have been
advertising more jobs but have been slow to fill them. Job openings
jumped 11 percent during the 12 months that ended in February, but
the number of people hired declined, according to a Labor Department report
